Why You Want To Treat Your Water

Our planet's most valuable and abundant resource has been taken for granted for too many years. You can no longer assume that the water provided for you from a city (municipal) water supplier, or from a well, is optimal for your health. The same can be said of the bottled water industry which has exploded in the past few years to attempt to fulfill a need that people have to drink and use clean, health-enhancing water.

Let's look at a few of the issues.

Water Quality

Water quality is suffering. The vast quantity of toxic pollutants dumped into our collective water supply by both industry as well as individuals has created a problem that is growing.

Chlorine in city water (appropriately added to kill bacteria and viruses) doesn't taste good.

Drinking 2-3 quarts of water per day is essential to good health. Yet people don't like to drink water that tastes bad and they shouldn't drink water that has contaminants.

Pollutants
  • Pesticides, herbicides, chemical and radioactive wastes from industry, landfill seepage, garbage dump seepage, acid rain, mine tailings, petroleum wastes, and more -- all eventually end up in our water supplies.
  • The earth is running short on her capacity to purify these contaminants.
  • Long forgotten industrial sites, whether big or small, are constantly being rediscovered as their toxic wastes show up in water supplies.
  • Chlorination of a surface water supply produces chlorination byproducts which have been shown to be carcinogenic.
  • It is estimated that almost all surface water - rivers and lakes - now is contaminated by bacteria or cysts such as giardia or cryptosporidium.
  • Significant levels of pharmaceutical drugs have been recently found in a number of municipal water sources which are not removed by standard municipal water treatment. These include antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and many other classes of drugs.

EPA - Safe Water Act and changing standards The quality of the nation's drinking water is overseen by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the "Safe Drinking Water Act." As more information becomes available, these standards are continually being changed. Many municipal water treatment systems have trouble meeting these tighter restrictions.
Water Purification Technology Water purification technology has been around long enough that the currently available systems offered by Colorado Water Wizard, and discussed on this website, are proven reliable to provide pure, clear, good-tasting water at a very affordable price.

The Bottled Water Industry
  • The bottled water industry has less regulation regarding water quality and sanitation than municipalities that provide water.
  • Labeling is often misleading. Some companies are actually bottling tap water supplied by the municipality, adding a fancy label and selling it at a premium price.
  • Yes, some bottled water is excellent; bottles have been cleaned and sanitized properly and the water is pure. However, some bottled water is of poor quality. How do customers know the difference?
  • The cost of bottled water often exceeds the cost of a purification system.
  • The space for a water dispenser and storage of water bottles, and the labor to fill them, carry them around and heft them up to the dispenser are considerations for many people.
  • Store-bought water bottles in pint or quart sizes contribute to 'mountains' of plastic added to trash.
The Frogman Wizard says your health is important, water is key SUMMARY - To support your health, treated and purified water is an important consideration. A water purification system in your home or business is an accessible and financially viable choice!
